I am a 51 yr old in relatively good health, physically active, no medical issues until recently.
Routine colonoscopy Nov 2012 showed small nodule or lump on my prostate. Referred to urologist.
DRE lead to ultrasound/12 needle biopsy on Jan 17.
1 of 12 samples showed adenocarcinoma, 5mm, Gleason score 3+4=7.
Urologist recommended daVinci Robotic Laprascopic Prostatectomy.
Successful surgery March 15, 2013.
Lymph node pathology neg, cancer free.
It is now April 7, just 2 weeks since surgery. Other than some leakage, healing nicely.
My question is are there any statistics for recurrence of prostate cancer after prostatectomy? I know my PSA will be monitored and should show zero levels. What is the likeness of PSA beginning to measure positive levels? How long?View Thread
