I didn't like what I heard about photon radiation, so I chose proton radiation, which is more precise, and two and a half years later I've had no side effects, and like many others I'm very happy for my choice.View Thread
We had what they called a radiation vacation. We spent two months in Jacksonville and rented a place not far from the center. My insurance paid the entire cost of treatment, and our only expense was the rent and the gas to get there and back.View Thread
I investigated all of the options and chose proton therapy as the best with minimal to zero side effects. More than 2 yes later I'm very happy with the result, and my wife and I had a great time during the treatment.View Thread
You should investigate proton radiation. It has minimal to zero side effects. It is available in several places in the country. I had it two years ago, and I'm doing as well as before. The experience was great, there was no pain during treatment, and I cotinued my normal daily routine except for about half an hour a day. An additional plus was that my wife and I made several new friends who were doing the same thing.View Thread
I was 84 when I did some research and decided that proton therapy was superior to other types of radiation, and I'm so glad that I did, because ther was no pain involved and no side effects. The experience was great, and my wife and I formed new friendships which are lasting.View Thread
My urologist told me that he does not do surgery for patients over 70. I was diagnosed at 82 and chose proton therapy at 84, and it was a most pleasant experience with no side effects. That was 2 yrs ago, and I'm very happy that it was my choice, as were many, many others to whom I've spoken. I am still quite active.View Thread
Your doctor recommends surgery because that's his stock in trade. And before you decide on treatment, check all the options. Remember that all radiation treatments are not the same. I opted for proton radiation 2 yrs ago and have had no side effects at all. I've heard from many other men who have had the same treatment, and all of them have had zero to minimal side effects and are very happy that they chose proton. I started having ED 2 yrs before my treatment, and I started Viagra which worked well. After treatment I continued with the same results, and my sex life is great. I'm now 86.View Thread
