I know how you feel. I turned 62 on Christmas day,2009 and was diagnosed with OA in Jan because my knees were swollen and I couldn't walk. By April, 2010, my hands were swollen, twisted and the pain was excrutiating. My hands, wrists, feet felt like someone was holding a torch on them.
After more blood tests, it was determined that I had RA. Anyway, RA doc started me on prednisone (1 week) and 4 metho pills a week. Totally relieved my suffering, but I was tired all the time. Then I was put on Enbel injections. After 4 injections I ended up with pneumonia, which I'm recovering from now.
This, of course, has left me very concerned about the disease and the options for treating it. I had started really working on a healthier lifestyle (diet, exercise) knowing that your immune system is compromised and I end up with pneumonia...go figure !View Thread
