It seems to me your family does not want to believe you, not that they don't believe you. It would really stir the pot if they had to change their codependent lifestyle. Much easier to remain in opposition.View Thread
I have this problem too. I haven't found others with it, so I'm glad someone can validate it for me. I don't have a solution. Asked the rheum and he looked at me like I'm nuts and said I don't think so.View Thread
Had RA for 1year. I sometimes get this feeling of congestion in both ears (but they are not), and jaw joint pain, and this feeling of not being able to swollow( that's the best way I can think to describe it). Has anyone else experienced that?View Thread
Annekia, I so sympathies iz's with you. You did NOT cause this to come upon yourself, so push that out of your brain right now. What I have experienced about this disease is that it is weird. I started with symptoms a year ago, had elevated R factors, pos ANA, but no inflammation markers like SED etc. I was put on plaquinil, but not diagnosed. A year later, sx much worse, show pos for CCP and I finally get a dx. For a entire year I'm thinking I'm losing it because of all the weird sx going on in my body. I was relieved to finally get dx, because it knew I wasn't crazy. You have so much w/o the RA, it's a wonder you are functioning at all, so give yourself a big pat on your back for doing so well. From my research and from my rheum. Every time you are in pain, damage is being done to your joints. Is it possible to get another rheum.? No professional who I
Has an ounce of ethics should make such a statement to you.View Thread
I went through testing last year. My R factor was 79 and was positive on the ANA,I but showed no results for inflammation. I was started on Plaquinil and had flares about every 6-8 weeks until may. From June on until mid September I've been great, not even stiff in the mornings. The rheumatologist is saying I don't have it, exrayed my hand and still said I don't have it. Now it is beginning to work up again. The pain is as high as an 8 out of 10. Tissues around the major knuckles are swollen, but not red, bones/joints feel like someone or something has stomped on my hand real hard and they feel like they are fractured. I read that if I am still in a lot of pain, that damage is continuing. Can you address this?View Thread
Hang in there, it will be ok. Give yourself time to absorb it all. Are you on meds? I'm finding that it is not uncommon to have this, kinda uncertain diagnosis. I'm in that boat too. R is75 , pos Ana, but not pos for inflammation levels. Same symptoms as yours. Started on plaque nil 6mos ago. I'm doin better. Your profession is a blessing and a curse. Blessing cuz you know what to do to help yourself but difficult to help others. I am very hopeful that you will gain some control over it to manage it better. Hang in there.View Thread
