I was diagnosed schizoaffective after having a psychotic episode 3 years ago. I was taking adderall at the time for ADD. I have read adderall can cause psychosis in some people. My psychosis did not last for 2 weeks which is how long psychosis needs to last in order to get diagnosed schizoaffective. It did not last because I was prescribed seroquel. Which works great for me. The psychosis went away instantly. I stopped taking adderall(60 mg) as well. I have taken 60 mg another time and no psychosis. What I am trying to get at is should my diagnosis be schizoaffective? Or was it just the adderall? I have not had a relapse since taking seroquel. Is it normal not to have a relapse? I read on here people having relapses all the time. I have been fired from 4 jobs because of my memory. I am have now held a job for 2 years thanks to seroquel. I also have problems with avolition(doing things), hygiene and lack of thoughts. All signs of schizoaffective. My doctor believes since my symptoms are persistent I am schizoaffective and it was not the adderall. What do you guys think?View Thread
