If one tends to speak to themselves in their heads, it might be helpful to pick a tone of voice one feels comfortable speaking to themselves in and sticking with it, from deep to high pitched. It can be your own voice, someone you know, a cartoon character or anything you might feel comfortable with.
I have found that technique helps me because I tended to hear voices that sounded like it came from many different people, so this has helped me deal with it and now it doesn't bother me as much. For example just before you're going to go to sleep, like when you're in bed, close your eyes and try moving your eyes around in all sorts of directions. Move them in circles, squeeze them like your concentrating, let go and do again. What can help is the random movements. I have been doing this for about a week in half an hour sessions and it has helped me.
When you sleep, try sleeping on your stomach and lowering your head a few times in the day.
