HOWEVER. Speaking as one who comes from a family who has horrible allergies to everything -- and as one who has horrible allergies to everything -- I agree with everyone above! The absence of milk in a little one's diet isn't going to hurt her. My brother has been allergic to milk since he was very little, and my dad and I are both lactose intolerant. I was wondering, though, if there is something that you can supplement your nursing with? Are there any milk protein-free formulas at health food stores you can get to help while you're waiting for the dairy to pass out of your system? It may help E be a little calmer at night and help the both of you get some more sleep.
She is darling. You have the cutest kids!
Love ya!View Thread

I have several chiffon shirts (purple leopard-print, mint green, a black stripey one) or else I use those cover-ups used for bathing suits. Those are also light and filmy. They let the breeze in.
Hope that helps.View Thread

1,) Things to calm down: petting Savannah and hearing her purr (that is, when she wants to be petted), lighting some candles or sitting by a crackling fire, or using relaxation breathing.
2.) I used to do meditation on a fairly frequent basis. I guess I've gotten out of practice, but I do use it to help me fall asleep. I also used to do yoga, but with my frequently injured and vulnerable ankle, it seems like just when I'm going to take it back up, something happens to it.
3.) I don't really do anything on a daily basis, no. I do a lot of self-talk, though, to soothe myself. It's along the lines of "It's okay, just here and now. Here and now. Here and now. Breathe. In and out. And breathe. And breathe."
4.) I think I would choose a cool night in the country for a calm place. I would have Savvy at my side, and I would be able to look up at the stars for hours on end. It would be beautiful and quiet and I would occasionally see a glimpse of the aurora or a meteor. (There would also be magically no bugs.) I could smell the wind and the pine trees, and the soft crackle of a camp fire.View Thread

1.) What kinds of things do you like to help calm yourself down when you're having a hard time -- warm bubble baths, candles, aromatherapy, cuddling with your animals, other ideas?
2.) Have you ever tried meditation, yoga, or zen practices? How did it go? Would you do it again?
3.) Do you do things on a daily basis to help keep yourself calm and centered? Why or why not?
4.) Let's go on a little trip. If you could go to the most calming place on in the universe, where would it be (a tropical beach, the woods. a snow-covered vista)? Describe it.View Thread

I just wanted to send out good wishes to you and your future hubby. Just remember... concentrate on the marriage, not the wedding. The wedding is just an event. The marriage is for the rest of your lives.
I hope you have "happily ever after."View Thread
