I've struggled with cutting for a while, and I was looking for healthy alternatives when it got to the point where I couldn't remember half of the cuts that were on my arms. I found one that really does work, but you need to have the time to do it, and the dedication to try it.
Sounds basic right? Well it is, but I tend to do it Raven (Teen Titans) style. If you've seen Teen Titans, then you know that Raven has a saying while she meditates. That saying being "Azarath metrion zinthos." When it's summer and it's warm, but not too warm, with a cool breeze, I sit in the shade, close my eyes, block everything out, and start saying Raven's meditation quote throughout meditation. When I do this, I make sure there's acool breeze with warm weather because, to me, it gives the effect of relaxation and weightlessness. So when I meditate and really get into it, I can almost feel myself floating. Sounds cliche, I know, but that's how I feel. Either way, I've had one of my friends who also cuts do that, and they said that they felt the same thing, and they felt really good about themself afterwards. I completely recommend anyone who struggles with self harm to do this when they get the urge. It helps to have a calming song (instrumental piano, accoustic guitar, or harp recommended) in the background on a low level. If not insturmental, I suggest having 'Angeles' by Jensen Ackles.View Thread
