My picture is of my cat, Elliott...who is the ultimate scaredy-cat (the first 6months-1year that I had him, I only saw him when I happened to surprise him when he was out from under the couch)
I have dealt with SI/SH of one sort or another ever since I can remember, although it got significantly more severe about 17-18 years ago after I started being (or at least remember being) sexually abused.
I've been on the board for probably 4 or 5 years (maybe more, I don't remember any more...seems like I've known a lot of people here my whole life) I've gone years at a time without harming, but those stretches have been interspersed with periods of definite struggles (which I am in right now)

I am doing better...still struggling...but not having the intense insane urges/depression/self-hatred that i was over the weekend
I haven't talked to my Dr about it...I noticed a HUGE increase in my depression when I started birth control...but no one seemed to take me seriously...even though that's one of the side effects listed...so i just added an AD and called it good...but now I'm off the BC and at the mercy of my own hormones and this is the first month I have really had a huge shift...if it continues over the next month or two I will follow up.View Thread

strong urges to put myself in a position to be sexually/physically assaulted are easing somewhat...still there...but less forceful
irritable and angry today...about flipped out cause the girls at subway didn't cut the meat for my salad...red flag...
trying to use one of my last two major homework assignments to distract from the feelings today...and trying to breath...View Thread
