Im 24 years old, had paragard for almost 2 years, and had it taken out last tuesday. I always had bad cramps, heavy bleeding and infections. Then about a month ago I started having severe panic attacks and anxiety. I started doing research and found tons of forums that stated similar side effects which led me to get the IUD removed. Im still having bad anxiety and panic attacks, which is something I have never had before until a month ago. Im just wondering how long it took any of you to finally get over this. I have been eating healthy, taking supplements, trying to eliminate any copper toxicity that could be built up. I have had some hair loss but thankfully dont have any bald patches. I have also started to get so bloated everytime I eat. Its stays like that to, sometimes all day. Im just feeling horrible!!!! I dont know what else to do. I really cant wait until all this anxiety crap goes away. It makes it difficuly to work, or do much of anything. Any tips??? I would appreciate any advice out there.View Thread
Im so glad I found this! Im 24 years old, no kids, and have had paragard since April 2010 and started off with the usual bad cramping and heavy periods. It lasted for over a year. I went back to the ob for my check up and she said it was falling out and had to re-put it back in. All my side effects seemed to go away. No more cramping, heavy periods, discharge. But now 2 months later after my check up I have been having extreme panic attacks and anxiety for no reason. I have never had this before, and have had several tests done to see whats going on. I do have low iron and my hair has been falling out much more than usual in the front, and I can see its going bald!! Other than that all my blood work and ultrasounds came back fine. Im definitely going to have the IUD taken out this week. I hope I dont have severe copper poisoning, and hope it clears up all my problems. I literally feel like I have been going crazy and had no idea what could be causing it. To anyone considering it I wouldnt do it. I know other people who have had issues as well, one friend even had it "lost" inside her and couldnt find it to be removed. How long did it take most of you to return to normal??? And whats good for detoxing to remove the metals from the body?View Thread
