Sorry, Gail, not trying to offend you. There is a lot of conflicting info. My GP, STD hotline people I have spoken to on the phone, and you have all been kind enough to offer help, and that is appreciated. However, the information sometimes conflicts and when you are in a high stress situation its sometimes dificult to figure out who to trust.
I also have heard 2 weeks will give fairly accurate results, I think its an IGG or IGM? test? That is a what multiple services that sell std testing say. Some even say 72 hours after exposure is sometimes enough time to see if there hsa been new exposure.
It sounds like the acts described above are low risk for any STD. There are some posts on here however claiming that they got HSV from Genital to Hand to Genital contact. Just curious how common that is, or is it more theoretical?View Thread
I have symptoms of prostatitis, without a diagnosis of it. I am 34. I think he wants to keep an eye on it. For the most part I have been symptom free for about 2 years. I think its odd that he still makes me go in every 3 months as it seems to be resolved.
My main concern however, is not that he is checking my prostate, but how. My understanding is that generally the prostate is "milked" by inserting a finger and massaging the prostate to get a sample. I have been to other doctors where it was finger only. This doctor uses his other hand to get me to fully ejaculate, and I am trying to figure out if this is part of the process or if he is going too far. The reason that I am concerned is that he has made some advances on me, or so I percieve, and I'm not sure if he's doing an exam or going above and beyond. Is this totally unprofessional or totally normal procedure for my situation?View Thread
I have had some symptoms of prostatis without actually being diagnosed. My doctor has me come in every 3 months to be checked. In the beginning he would just by inserting his finger and milking the prostate. Sometimes it would take a long time. He eventually began using his other hand to try to massage me. At first I was really uncomfortable with it, and he said it was normal, to relax and let it happen. I ejaculated, he took his specimen and did the tests. Now he does this every time.
The more people I have asked, and the more I have tried to get information on line, I have not found any examples of instances where a doctor has specifically tried to make the patient ejaculate, only situations where its accidental. I have become quite paranoid that my doctor may be exhibiting some unprofessional behavior. Is it normal to require a "full specimen?"View Thread
Thanks. There are a lot of posts of people who claim they got HSV 2 from genital to hand to gential contact. How early can you detect HSV if I were to get tested.
There is a facility in my area that claims they can test for everything accurately within 72 hours, but they are quite expensive. I am willing to spend the money to get peace of mind, but I'd like to make sure that the results are conclusive or atleast highly accurate and not a scam.View Thread
Thanks for your post, its very reassuring. I am just curious, if someone had deposited their fluids on her before I put my mouth there, and then they dried, would there be any risk? My understanding is that even if there was semen from a previous partner, it would likely not live well outside the body.
Also, I have heard that Herpes can be transmitted from genitals to hand to genitals. Could the same be true for breasts?View Thread
