Mary, I've been exactly where you are... I think alot of us have. Just wanted to share this encouraging post with you. http://www.wrecked.org/not-ok/damsel-in-distress/ Its really hard for outsiders to understand what its like... they never really will. Just know you arent alone and theres nothing wrong with you!
Not sure if you like readying but Hush and Breathe by Nicole Bromley are AMAZING. Hush is a little hard to get through at first, but well worth it and Breathe is one of the best books I have ever read. She is a dear friend of mine and an insanely bright beacon of hope.View Thread
Hey guys! I am like so many of you... I grew up being molested by my father for the first 16 years of my life. At age 19, I mustered up the courage to turn him in... Many tears and hurts along the way but I can confidently stand before you today and I dont regret a single moment in life and would never wish that my story were different. I've been called to be a SANE nurse and am in the process of starting an organization that raises awareness for sexual abuse and provides recovery, safe housing, resources and community for those who have survived and been rescued from sex trafficking.
i wanted to share something with you all though... the first time i have shared my story publicly (and the story I will share as i continue to share in other speaking events)
its meant to be encouraging though, might have some triggers in there...
On March 2nd, Christena Cleveland prophesied over me that I was meant to share my story with the masses much like the stories being shared by the keynote speakers at the event I was attending. Without knowing what was spoken over me, a few days later Ruth good friend and author for Wrecked, asked if I would share my story with the Wrecked community thus marking the start of what I was destined to do.
