Thanks. Yup my Gyn knows.
I was going to suggest he goes to get a blood test. If we both have HSV 2 then I prefer not to go back on acyclovir post delivery... But if he doesn't have it then I will to help prevent him from getting it. I am uneasy about bring on that daily for several yrs though.... Any thoughts on long term use and side effects ? It decreased response to the meds over time?View Thread
I think you need to move on as well. There are so many ppl that will be understanding and want to be with you regardless of you having hsv. He's not worth your energy.
I am with someone who doesn't have it and take suppressive meds to help limit the chance of transmission. But he understands it's not 100%.View Thread
Thanks for the reply! Do those symptoms sound like herpes symptoms at all? I am thinking I will just call my doc the next time I get that rash thing and see if she can see me right away.
also as far as transmitting HSV to someone else - can touching with the hands give it them? If there was no sex nor rubbing of the genitals what are the odds of transmitting to a partner through touching - no signs of an outbreak present and on suppressive therapy.
Thanks so much for your help. I get so nervous about giving it to someone else, and would never have intercourse without telling someone first. But it's so confusing because I can't tell when I am or not about to get an OB!View Thread
