Our Pores are essential to our skin's health.Pores allow our skin to remain healthy by providing essentially oils to keep our skin soft.Unfortunately, extremely large pores may be primarily Genetic.However ,there are several things that you can do to help control pore size ,the first is to thoroughly cleanse your face with an exfoliating chemical peel . (a note of caution, do not over exfoliate ,this may lead to increased oil production)I recommend visiting your physician at least every 6-8 weeks to receive a prescription strength exfoliating treatment. next consider exfoliation with microdermabrasion. Your firs step ,as always, is to exclude any underlying medical conditions that may be contributing to your hair loss such as thyroid or adrenal .Next would be to determine if there are any potential infectious reasons for your hair loss(Fungal or staph). I am so sorry to hear about your challenges with acne.Acne can be devastating .There is definitely a hormonal component with acne that can influence abnormal hair growth. Make sure that your Physician is checking a metabolic panel and hormonal levels. Best Dr EvansView Thread
After many years of practicing dermatology it's clear that skin types can vary greatly, and therefore recommended skin routines vary also. Generally twice a day skin routine is what's recommended. In the evening, I suggest cleansing away the days, make up, oil, and environmental particles. Also, it can prepare the facial skin for a vitamin A treatment, which is best at night.
In the morning, cleansing is recommended to refresh the skin and prepare for sunscreen, moisturizer, or medication for acne. If the skin is exceptionally dry or irritated; in dry climates, then the morning cleanse can be skipped.
Sunscreen, should be added to everyone skin routine. Healthy skin is beautiful skin!
Dark circles, puffiness, and eye bags, are common complaints in my practice. The most common cause is related to untreated allergies and sinus irritation that leaves the nose eye area boggy. In other cases, it's related to underlying skin problems that leave darkness behind. Also genetics can predispose you to having under eye bags, from the accumulation of fat under the eyes.
When acne treatment contains a skin lightener, then the under eye can appear darker relative to the medically treated lighter area. Underlying health issues, should be addressed first before brightening the under eyes. After which the under eye needs vasoconstriction, brightening, and protection from the sun with an SPF 30 sunscreen.
Compression and cool temperature are inexpensive ways; wearing eye compression pads at night which help decrease eye puffiness, and placing something cool (not frozen) on the eye area. Also removing alcohol from your routine will help tighten the vessels and brighten the under eye area. Licorice extract and vitamin K are two of my favorite brighteners when used in formulations to brighten the fragile eye area to look healthy and beautiful!
