Four years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. What a journey this has been - so many learning experiences. The least of which has been my hair! It is thinning in the front and I am trying to think of ways to cover - Joan Rivers puts out a good powder and brush as a temporary measure*** But I digress..lol Back to the graying. Not too long after my diagnosis, strands of gray had begun to show so I decided to color my hair for the first time in my life. WHAT A SHOCKER!! Of course, with MS, everything in my body...immune system, etc. has turned upside down/sideways. Nothing prepared me for the disaster - my scalp began to tingle - then sizzle. By the next morning, I had sores all over and red spots had appeared all over my face. Benadryl finally took care of the itching. Recovery was a long time in coming.
THE LESSON...my hair now has strands of gray throughout which has the highlight look. At 61 years of age, I have decided every stand of gray is well deserved and represents a part of my life. CELEBRATE IT! View Thread
