About 4-6 weeks ago I used a salt abrasion method to help remove an unwanted tattoo. In hind site I realize it was rather dumb. Anyways, it got infected early on and after that it has been kept extremely clean. Neosporin has been used to help in healing. Too look at it you would think its healed however it is a violent red underneath. It is not warm to the touch, meaning it is the same temperature at the rest of my skin. However it has been scrapped a couple times and a thin layer of skin has peeled back each time. One time was an accidental scratch by my fingernail. I figured after this amount of time it would have healed and scarred over by now but I guess not. So I am wondering if I should be concerned? The amount of skin taken off was a good bit. I cant tell if it went past the 2nd layer but the abrasion did bleed so I know it went past the 1st. I am not worried about what it looks like fully healed, just that it GETS healed is my concern.
Any help or reassurance that things are going in the right direction and my concerns are unfounded would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
