My husband has suffered for the same symptoms for almost 3 months - we have modified his diet to eliminate dairy, gluten - it gets worse when he eats those kind of things. He is currently on distilled water diet hoping to flush out whatever the trigger(s) are. It's absolutely heart-wrenching to see him suffering for this. We have also tried calamine lotion which seems to get rid of the symptoms within a couple of minutes. The recurring part is what buffles us. He had gone to ER because once it made him cough non-stop and the coughing also blocked his airway. The ER dr. didn't know what triggered the hives and reaction but he did prescribe some anti-itching meds for my husband. We are looking into sea salt bath to see if this will help. One thing I do notice is that when the symptoms are in the peak blowout, my husband's skin feels feverish!! Calamine lotion works but we will be trying Clariton D to work on the preventative. Any solution or any discovery of what the triggers for such hives are much appreciated.View Thread
my husband has suffered thrugh the same delimma for almost 3 months. We thought it was dairy, then gluten, now soda...he uses calamine lotion to curb the rash and itching -this seems to help. The symptoms start out of no where and we don't know what is really causing the suffering - one thing we do know is that when he eats gluten/dairy products, the symptoms become worse. We are going to try bath salt and he is going to seek medical help. Sometimes he will have the chest caughs that seem to block his airway - this happened a couple of times. Nothing unusual occurs in our household that I suspect will trigger such skin irritation.View Thread
