Doctor thought it was Poison Ivy and put me on Prednisone. Which did clear it up. But 2 days after done the prednisone it came back... in the same exact spots. They put me on a longer dosage of prednisone... did the same thing. as soon as I stopped it.. these itchy bumps came back.
they are driving me insane! A lot of them seem to be at the base of a hair follicle... but not all. OTC hydrocortisone seems to help temporarily.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?View Thread

Is there any other condition that could cause the hair shafts to fluoresce?? I am afraid to shave his head again because I worry that that may be what caused his last bout because the hairs fluoresced and I worry that I caused it to go into his scalp by shaving his head.
I am just at such a loss. He is four and we are scared to hug him, let him sleep in our bed, be around other kids - because we are worried he will give it to someone. Any suggestions would be very welcomed!! Thank you!View Thread
He also recently moved in with a co-worker, who has two cats. We've realized he's allergic to them because he's developed hives almost all over his body. Could there be a connection?View Thread
My boyfriend and I went scuba diving in the Pacific Ocean last week. Shortly after suiting up in a 7mm wetsuit he complained of a crawling, biting sensation in his leg area. He thought a bug was crawling around. He dismissed it,and we enjoyed diving the kelp gardens off Catalina Island, Ca. A nasty raised rash appeared on his kneecap and spread down his leg a bit. I wonder if it was caused by a spider bite or tick bite? or, a fungus from the suit? the suits were not cleaned prior to use and had been well worn. perhaps a bacteria was growing on the suit? I'm concerned because it has been almost 1 wk now and the rash is still there- still dark red in color. could it be a flesh-eating virus? fungal infection? please help identify this condition! I will get a photo posted just as soon as I am able to do so. Thank youView Thread
ok so ive had this problem for a while but have just been egh about letting anyone take a look at it because its so embarrassing..
but time to move on with my life..
also keep im mind i am using crutches so my arm pits are more irritated than usual, but ive had this problem before i started using the crutches, actually this has been going on for some time now, 4+ years.
symptoms:
sores start off as small pimples under the arm pits and work them selfs bigger..
i dont know if it means anything else, but sometimes the sores come on my lower stomach//groin/buttock, and they too start like the ones in the pictures..
sometimes they get dry and flakey like the big one in the first picture, and others get huge and raise up really inflammed and burn when irritated
Let me know if any other information might help...

I have always been prone to hives and strange skin irritations...I often get weird hives that stay for a while and then go away, and they have never really been diagnosed as anything.
However, the past year or so has been particularly bad for weird rashes. I have had a rash on and off for weeks at a time on the arches of my feet, between my fingers, and on my palms. Sometimes it's just on my feet or hands, and sometimes-- like currently-- it is on both.
The rash is not a dry rash like eczema. The bumps appear to be fluid filled, and appear in clusters. Both rashes are debilitatingly itchy. They wake me up at night, and bother me all day long. The current rashes started as a few bumps on my feet and between my fingers, and it has now spread all over the bottoms of my feet/on my heels and onto my palms, the backs of my hands, and up my fingers.
I have been to a few general doctors about this problem, and have been told a few vague things. I've been told its eczema, as well as an inability for my pores to breathe through sweat. I have tried all of the over-the-counter anti-itch creams such as benadryl, gold bond, athlete's foot medications, etc. I have also been prescribed a variety of hydrocortisone creams for relief that don't seem to make much of a difference.
Please let me know if this sounds familiar, or if there is a diagnosis that I haven't thought of that I could look into.
Thank you very much for reading this!View Thread
The acne can be described as a regular zit/pimple but the bigger one didnt get bigger in terms of increasing in width and height, it grew in terms of height. The final size was cylindrical that was also round with a dome like top. The skin around it is a little red but the pimple or whatever it could be is red as well and the reason it has a clearish skin type top i guess is because it grew in height. But overall the acne is all red with no white cauliflower looking stuff or puss in it. It's not hard like really stiff but i'm able to move and pinch it so it is in a way soft but i'd need to put some force into trying to attempt to pop it which i will not be doing. The acne has been present for I want to say a month maybe more.
I have heard from pimple to zit to cyst to ill practiced hygiene to ingrown hair to STD. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and today i went to get tested for STDs so i will be getting those tests back soon. I had to air on the side of caution for the STD test except i also joined the national guard so im sure at MEPS i would have had something said to me.
What do you think it sounds like? Please don't tell me to go to a doctor because i'm already going but i'd atleast like to know now what you think it is.View Thread
My name is Ryan and am 20. I recently came down with mono. It was terrible at first. My throat almost closed up and I had a fever of 104. I couldn't walk and don't remember 2 whole days. After the first few days, I started to get better up until the point where my sore throat was the only thing that still really bothered me. That is until I got the worst rash I have had in my life. It covers my entire body and horribly itchy and burns. I am not on any antibiotics so its not the amox. rash everyone else seems to get. I am now sick again as I have been unable to sleep for about 3 days. I have been taking antihistamines and cortisone for the itchy, but it no longer helps. I have no allergies. I looks like all the other mono rashes that come up if you google "mono rash", But these are all from taking amox, which I am not.
Any ideas would be really helpful. As long as i have this rash I cannot sleep and get better.View Thread

My problem started 2 weeks ago. To make a long story short, it looked like I had boils on top of both of my hands. And they were extremely painful! Had a bacterial swab done, which came back negative. My infectious doc did a viral swab. Not sure what he was looking for, but it also came back negative. He still thinks it's some kind of herpes, but none of the information I could find sounds or looks like these. He put me on antiviral meds, and they are looking much better. My concern is what the heck is it and will it come back?? Of course, it did'nt help that I am Type 1 diabetic, and had major foot surgery on Jan. 4th.
Does anyone have anything like this? If you do, please let me know. Beleive me, any help would be greatly appricated!!View Thread
