Does anyone know what this could be? As soon as i fall asleep, but only if im on my back, my jaw pops shut really fast, clicking my top and bottom incisors together so suddenly and hard that i wake right back up immediately. Its been going on for so long that ive had a couple of enamel chips. I wear invisalign retainers now, so it softens the tap of my teeth, but for my whole life before retainers it was really an annoyance that kind of taught me to sleep on my side.
I was at my sleep specialist's /neurologist's today and asked him about this and he was stumped too. He'd never heard oh anyone else with this odd muscle jerk type reaction, but would love to know if anyone else has experienced it. It's been ruining every nap I've ever had and a lot of night's sleep for many years. Thanks everyone and sleep tight:)
