Hi, My wife had problems sleeping several years ago, and our family doctor had prescribed medication. After several months she was able to sleep. Recently, she had surgery and now the sleeping issue has reoccurred. The medication that she took previously is no longer working. The main problem is that she is exhausted, but her body will not allow her to sleep. She has been prescribed several different sleeping pills and non of them seem to work. Our family doctor asked her to see a Psychiatric doctor, he put her on some meds, and it she slept for maybe an hour or so. But, the following night it did not work. I suggested a sleep specialist, who question why she was taking some of the meds she has been prescribed. I'm very concerned and running out of options. Of course, insurance is a big issue, as I work for a company that is out of state, and the standard PPO doesn't cover most of the local doctor's. Very frustrating to find a doctor local that would accept our insurance. Basically, she will lay down and her body will not allow her to sleep, has anyone have seen this before?
