I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea 6 month ago and put on a BIPAP machine and a mask that just covers my nose. I have worn it most every night, but I have never managed to keep it on all night. I am never consciously aware of removing it and I rather doubt that it's coming off on it's own.
I'm using an oxygen generator connected to my BIPAP.
Nevertheless, my oxygen readings are still low during the day, so they (the VA) have given me oxygen bottles, carriers and nose pieces to use throughout day if I seem to run low on breath.
My main question is, would it be harmful to use a sleeping pill at night so I won't have the tendency to remove the mask?
I'm 72 years old and quite overweight (290#). I have diabetes and have developed a bad case of neuropathy in my feet.View Thread
