I am a 31 year old lady. I have been having trouble breathing. It is not all the time. I feel like I can't take a deep breath or like my throat is closing. It happens during the day some. It has been happening at night. Before I get in a deep sleep I will waking up gasping for air and my head fills numb or tingly. One night I was having a dream I couldn't breath, and I woke up gasping for air.I am not over weight and I am healthy. I have been to two doctors about the breathing problems. At the time I went to the doctor I was not having trouble while I was sleeping. The first doctor didn't do any test. She treated me for lung inflamation. She gave me a breathing treatment and an antibotic. This didn't help. I went to the er one afternoon bc it worse. The doctor walked in and took one look at me and said it was anxiety. The only thing the nurses checked was my oxygen level. It was normal. I agree I could have been having an anxiety attack because I was so focused on not being able to breath and worried, but I don't think it is the cause of the breathing problem. Anxiety wouldn't cause me not to be able to breath in my sleep???View Thread
