I'm 21 years old and I've had a sleep problem all my life.
I've never had a straight night of sleep, i wake up 3-6 times a night every night. When I wake up, I don't just wake up lying down, but I wake up as my body sits itself up on it's own. It's as if my body's reflex to waking up is to hurl myself into a sitting / cross-legged position. Sometimes I wake up as my body is sitting up, sometimes I wake up when I am already sitting.
When I do sit up, I usually begin belching, as if I just had the most delicious meal of my life with a gallon of soda. It goes on for around 30 seconds before I can stop. Once I stop, I lie myself back down to go back to sleep. This process repeats 3-6 times a night, every night.
The sitting up I guess I can live with, but the belching makes me think there is something wrong with my breathing, lungs, stomach, or other digestive organs.
If anyone can relate, or better yet, can shed some light on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.View Thread
