I can highly recommend Chantix, as it worked for me after 35 years of smoking. You have to see your doctor to get it. Let me know if you decide to go this route, as I will have more advice if you do. I successfully quit with Chantix, but didn't follow their directions. I followed the advice of a friend who used it to quit. Don't pick a "quit date". Just keep using the drug and smoking until eventually you stop thinking about it and notice you're not smoking as much as you used to. It' an amazing drug and I can't believe I actually kicked the habit after smoking for 40 years. GOOD LUCK.View Thread
Hi, I'm over three months smoke free because of Chantix and am telling everyone to use it. What an amazing drug. My dreams actually became sweeter on it, and any mood swings were minor, and actually just a part of my personality. I think the only negative side affect I experienced was gas, and hey, we can live with that to become smoke free, can't we? Good luck in your effort. I'm back. One month anniversary last Monday and still hanging. Each day I think less about it. I also quit the Chantix this week, but have backup supply in case I slip up. I doubt that's going to happen. I have bouts where I'm constantly having to clear my throat, but don't expel any mucous, as I've read with others. My battle now is the weight gain, and July 4th sure didn't help. I consider that my prime battle now, not cigarettes. How are you doing??View Thread
No I'm not. In fact, I was worried about nightmares because my dreams were so vivid already. They became sweet dreams, and I'm not the only one who's experienced that. At time I've been angry, but I contribute that to my personality, rather than the drug. Go for it!View Thread
How long did you stay on the Chantix after your quit date? I've read the long term success is better is you stay on it, but no kind of schedule. It's two weeks clean for me today and I'm doing great.View Thread
That I am. Day nine and I'm finally telling people about it, since no one's noticed. More support. I also upped my work outs to 6 times a week to try to prevent "the gain" because I am always hungry. 30 minutes a day with Gilad and "Bodies in Motion", plus some Pilates is doing it for me.View Thread
