I have just reached 70 days (my 2nd time). Both times I have an awful sweet tooth that is driving me crazy and nothing but something sweet can satisfy it. I never even bought sweets on a regular basis when I smoked.View Thread
This is my 2nd time in a year quitting. 1st time was 52 days. This time I am at 35 days. Craving sweets is my biggest problem. I am using Chantix but I hate the fact that I want/need something sweet all the time. I tried to buy vegetables, crackers etc but I don't eat them. I want ice cream, popcicles, french vanilla capuccino, cakes, cookies, etc. So I am going to buy the glucose tablets to see if that help. I've gained 10 lbs!!!View Thread
This is my 2nd time at quitting. It is the same as last time I want anything sweet and I'm not crazy over sweets. Ice cream, cupcakes, candy bars, etc. If glucose tablets work, please let me know.View Thread
I started Chantix (for the 2nd time) last week. I smoked but a pack lasted me that whole week. I stopped completely this past Sunday. I've had urges but not too bad. This morning was really bad and I think if I had a pack there, I would have. The Chantix is ok. I have the dreams (I think they are neat!), a little nausea. The last 2 days I get really nauseated around 6 pm but I don't know if it's withdrawal or the Chantix. I'm just glad I have gone 4 days with no cigarette! This is not my 1st attempt but I'm sticking with it for my health. Good luck to everyone doing this.View Thread
4/2/2013 - Day 24 and still no cigarette! I have to say I'm proud of myself! I have never gone this long. However, I am always hungry. I have been staying away from alcohol because I think that was something that also kept me from stopping. I did have a glass of wine this weekend but no cigarette. It's starting to feel more normal. I don't wake up thinking about a cigarette or get in the car after work or at lunchtime and reach for one. I still have the urge every now and then but I'm beginning to realize the hold smoking had on me.View Thread
I am 49 yrs old. Been smoking since I was 19. I had 2 aunts die from emphysema & COPD. My older sister by 5 years has had 3 strokes (she quit). I kept smoking. About 5 years ago, my legs started hurting when I walked and have progressively gotten worse. I was recently told that I have blockages. It seems that circulation problems run in our family even with those who have never smoked. I've tried to quit before with no success. I saw a commercial on t.v. recently that showed people who have lost their legs and finger tips due to smoking. That did it. This time I am determined. I am using Chantix and this is my 2nd week on it and 4 days w/o a cigarette. I am determined to quit and pray that it is not too late.View Thread
