During a relatively nasty but apparently harmless bout with my heart throwing tons of PVCs and PACs, I started to experience these 1/2 second duration of a black spot appearing in the bottom left of my left eye and flying upwards. This is NOT a floater and is similar in look to when you press your eye on one side and see the dot on the other.
Seems to happen only in the mornings and maybe once during the day at first. Rarely my right eye will experience it too but instead of moving up, it moves down at the same time the left eye moves up. Both are on the outside of the eye.
It comes and goes too - happening maybe 5 times during a week, then nothing for weeks, and now it's happening again on my left eye but this time the black spot was dark reddish and flew from bottom center edge back to left corner.
No other symptoms when it happens. No dizziness, no nothing.
I'm 47, do aerobics every other day, work out, never issues when I do that or spots. Just usually at rest and well, wondering if this is just aging typical stuff or ??View Thread
The point here is, how did this happen? In the past 2 weeks only 2 significant changes took place: 1. I recently bought a car I've been working on and it was putting out lots of gasoline vapors that I was taking in a lot of, causing pressure around my left eye after I drove; and 2. I recently started eating tuna sandwiches everyday and I've never eaten tuna, and it was while I was at the sandwich place that I noticed my vision; although, I drove the gas vapor car there.
Any ideas?View Thread

Well, about a month later it happens again. So after the 3rd time we go to the Doctor and she said allergies. Put him on med's and thought it was over. Another few weeks went by and then again every time is got worse and lasted longer. We change everything, soaps, shampoos, his bedding, new pillow, laundry soap, ect... This time she sends us to the allergy clinic and the doctor there looked at him and said " this is not allergies " He said " in the 30 years I have been a Doctor I have never seen or heard of anything like this. " So he was tested for allergies, They did all kinds of blood test ( kidnys, blood, ect) and everything came back ok. But by this time We have began to notice that the eybrow and above is always a lil swollen and larger then the other and all the time now. No redness, no drainage, just swelling and very very high eye pressure. and minor head ahces. No one knows what is causing this. We has seen 5 Doctors and no one knows. We have everything checked, eye's, teeth, head, ears, blood, sinise's everything and nothing! He has has cscan and a MRI recently done and that both came back fine.
In the first 10 months he had 13 episodes you never know when and it has been 6 months sense the last one. And now that eye is slightly puffy every morning he wakes up that is new and altho he has not lost vision it is getting blurry in that eye and he has very, very high eye presser they are very concerned about that. He now needs to have glasses. The thing that confuses every one is the fact that it is always on the same side of the face and same eye. The left eye. So we see a childrens optical specialist the best in Oklahoma and he did all the test and nothing. It is sooo frustrating. We have Oklahoma's best doctors standing there scrathing there heads saying " he have no clue" I have never seen anything like this"
I have looked and searched up on the inter net and nothing that matches up. Now in my research I have found that there are some cancerus things that match but have to be tested certain ways. So as of now we are waiting for another flair up so they can do a certain blood test. But our main concern is what is the waiting doing?View Thread

Underlying conditions:
11 yr old girl. Glaucoma on one eye with less than 5% vision or less.
Other eye has no vision and was not formed during birth. Also have a
condition called: Peter's Anomaly. Conditions: Nystragamus in eye
which has no vision, but slight. [personal findings: Pax6 genetic
chromosome is primary cause for peter's anomaly and underdevelopment
of one of her eyes[one with no vision>.Slight strabismus. Possible
that the one which has no vision is causing the pain to the other eye
and causing the cough. X ray in 2 different ways taken but doctors
found no infection of an sort in lungs.
[Another Doctors misdiagnosed: prednisone to control cough but that
lead to elevated ocular pressure to 26>, was told to stop medication
immediately and used only Proventil inhaler to control cough.
Initially when cough started... gave her cough medication and othes
like Alka seltzer effervescent tabs, it did not do much to control
cough but pain subsided. She told us after careful analysis that when
her eye starts to get painful her cough starts. She was not like this
for the past 10+ years or at least we noticed. She took amoxicillin
clavulanate initially when cough started given by doctor and later
Zithromax for 3 days but nothing helped.
Current Pressure one eye with vision: 26+, previously 20-22
Medications used currently for Galucoma:
1. Dorzolamide Timolol Maleate Opthalmic Solution (Cosopt) - 2x a day
2. Brimonnidine Tartrate 0.2 - 3x a day
3. Atropine Sulfate 1% - 2x a day
4. Xalatan (Latanoprost) - 1x @ bedtime
5. Erythromycin Ointment 0.5% for her eyes.
Medications we are using to control her pain in both eyes:
1. Refresh Optiva for Dry eye [Carboxymethyl Celluose sodium 0.5%,
Glycerin 0.9%>- used 3-4x a day or as needed [findings: found not to
be effective at all at least not in this new problem with the pain,
but worked previously>
2. Zaditor [Ketotifen Fumarate ophthalmic solution antihistamin
eyedrops> - used as needed =- 4-5x day [findings: found to lessen
pain for her more than Refresh Optiva>
Surgeries done since day one of birth: 20+
Type: laser around perimeter of eye to control pressure + Installed
Shuns and other laser treatments by Vanderbilt Pediatric Opthamology
center by senior 2 professors of pediatric. Her condition has been
studied by doctors from places like John Hopkins university and other
insitutions around United States.View Thread

He's always tried to be so active in community service and i'd sure hate for him to lose that part of his life. He's already had to cut back so much. I've tried to look for clinical trials or something like that but don't really know what to ask for. Is there any advice for something to help him see again?View Thread
1) When I go to a web site with a black background with white letters and I look at that for a time I get these white and black lines "watermarked" for a better term (I don't know what to call it) across my eyes. When I look around I see it. But those lines go away in a few minutes.
2) When I rub my eyes for a time I get wierd kaladascope patterns and then all white.
So why do I get these? Thank you for the help.View Thread
For the last couple of years, I've noticed that whenever I look sideways, then back to the front, I have flickering lights in my vision field. They look like they're white lights that move around and they last for about 10-15 seconds.
Does anyone know what this is? And should I be concerned?View Thread
For many years, the doctors said that I either had eczema on my eyes (and had me put on cremes on the eyelids or eye drops, but neither one worked) or said that the problem is a mental one (that the problem wasn't real). My mom believed the latter until one day I got her to take a look at a lash I had to pull out (she looked to humor me). After she looked closely, she asked, "Why does this lash have two heads?" and took this a lot more seriously.
Other lashes I had to pull looked like it was split in many directions, One was shaped like a small T, some would be split in two directions, some in three or four directions with a white crust over the split parts, one looked like a feather duster, another looked like a tuning fork, and some had huge lumps in the middle that looked like clear plastic (those were painful). Most also looked very dry and stick-like on one side and huge, wet and plump on the other (either white or black or both on the plump part). I call them stingers, because they sting when I blink and sting when I rub my eyes, and the last kind I described I call Plumpers for obvious reasons.
Any idea what's really wrong with these mutated lashes of mine?View Thread

Sometimes this will last days, other times just for a few hours. I have my eyes checked annually and nothing ever shows up as being abnormal.View Thread
Yesterday, I went to an optimologist, both eyes have inflamatory issues.... Was given antibiotic eye drops..... And everytime I use them a few minutes later there's a weird taste dripping down my throat, an I know it's from my nasal cavity...
I once tried Cocaine, the nasty taste of the nasal drip turned me off it right away!! Well that's kinda what it tastes like! Also, a Pharmicist told me that these particular drops can give some people an energy boost...... What should I do?View Thread
