Mom is 87. We will definitely get speech and swallow tests done every two weeks. I'm even more depressed now. It's definitely 1000% easier to recover from a stroke at 46! If fate determines that it has to happen, the younger the better.View Thread
Okay, Selenick gives advice here from time to time also. I am unsure about contracture. I still haven't spoken to her doctor here yet. I should read at least one of the four books. I doubt Mom has had a PT/OT team assembled here, as she was asleep the first week. And certainly not at hospital. I spent minimal time on weekend, happy just to see her awake. Must drop all trivial pursuits asap, maximize my time there! Dad spoke with her 1 way, 4 hours yesterday. Improving.
I've been counting on VS for a month. VS has a solid decade of FDA usage under its belt. Tell me what you think about data/track record when you read up. My only problem with it is that we can't access it fast enough. Our place doesn't have it. We must exhaust 100 days copay here before switching homes! I can't make it up. You're lucky to be at a top flight home offering it. VS is cutting edge. Your mom will be fine, but this is like going from row boat to speed boat.View Thread
Hi Doctor. Mom had PEG Aug 1. Still sleepy much of time. Should I do range of motion exercises with her? Arms and maybe legs? A friend whose mom stroked this summer said you have to keep her moving.View Thread
