John Schwarzlose was hired by Betty Ford to help her open the Betty Ford Center in 1982 and has served as it's only Chief Executive Officer. He has worked in the alcoholism/drug addiction treatment field for 40 years and holds Masters Degrees in Science in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He is a Charter Fellow of the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators. He is a member of the Board of Directors for both the Betty Ford Center and Eisenhower Medical Center and has served as a member of many national organizations in the addiction field over the years.
