It has been almost 2 years since I smoked MJ, I have to desire to smoke it again, but I am very concerned it may have caused some detrimental health affects:
1) The first one being is when I am in a pool and my chest is submerged in water, I find it hard it breath, as if there was a weight pushing in on my chest when I am trying to inhale. I do not remember it being so difficult, but I am still able to breath just not comfortably (a lot of effort).
2) The second concern I have is that I always feel kind of depressed. I know that I am not depressed, but I never feel as happy normally prior to smoking MJ. I think I already know that this is due to me destroying the some of the receptors in my brain that receives serotonin from an overload of THC. But I'm still worried and wondering if there is anything I could do to help it or will I have to deal with it my entire life.
3) The third and I believe that I am most worried about, is blatantly being sluggish and less-intelligent. Prior smoking MJ I was a good A+ student. Now though as I am a sophomore in High-school I feel as if I take a very long time to do certain things. For example I am mostly if not always last to finish tests. I am finding it harder to comprehend certain subjects like Math. I finished Algebra II with a B, and I feel like I do not remember anything from that class. I am currently taking an AP World course, which I do enjoy, but every night we have to read about 20-25 pages, along with this I go out of the way to take extensive notes on each chapter (3-8 pages typed) to ensure that I will have a quick resource to study for the AP Exam. As this all seems good there is a huge problem with it, my friend types his notes in 1-2 hours, while I sit down seem to take way to much time reading. After reading one paragraph I loose my attention very quickly. I can't concentrate, and when I loose focus I go Surf the internet )for 30min (because I'm taking notes on my computer, then start to read/take notes again for maybe one or two paragraphs then loose focus. This eventually takes me from 3PM to 12AM, because when I get tired and its late, I for some reason am able to crank through it all very fast. Thats only about 1/3 my homework usually so I am usually up till 1-2 AM on a school night getting 4-6 hours of sleep. I am concerned because I really do sit there and try to do my homework, but then then next thing I know it 10PM and I have read 9 pages. I still pull off three A's and a B at the end of the Quarter, but I am very concerned that this sleep loss could be detrimental to my overall health. I might also add that I play on the Computer for 8-14 hours a day on the Weekends. So I consider myself addicted to the computer. I exercise about 2-5 times a week (usually 2 though), but I am an Ectomorph so I don't really gain weight.
So my question is, did the MJ cause me to lower my attention span and my overall intellect? And if so, is there anything I can do to help heal the damage I caused to my brain (the memory loss, lowered attention span, depressive mood, difficulty to comprehend higher learnings)? Please, I don't want my future to be undermined by the mistakes I made when I was 13, any insight is gladly thanked for.
I have to apologize for how extensive this post is, and I have to thank those who took the time to read it, and try to help me out.
Cheers,
