I am desperately seeking answers/explanations for my sudden vision changes. It seems that I have strabismus (eye turn, alternating use of eyes) but this was previously undiagnosed/undetected until now. I haven't been formally diagnosed yet but an OT that I met with to evaluate my driving in light of the problems I've had with my vision lately said it looks like strabismus.
The research I've done online indicates that adult onset strabismus can be caused by thyroid disease. I've been borderline hyper for many years and my mom is hypo and I am still unable to gain weight, fatigued etc. Is it possible that my thyroid is the culprit here? If so, could treating the thyroid resolve the strabismus on its own or would I still have to undergo VT (already tried this once) or surgery?
Every time I've had bloodwork done, my numbers come out in the normal range and then all the doctors say it's depression and try to get me on anti-depressants. If I'm depressed, it's because of these ongoing medical issues that no one can seem to diagnose or recognize! I am 31.View Thread
