I'm currently on 0,05 mg of Levothyroxine. I have no idea what my labs are. I will find out in a few weeks.
Found an Adrenal mass of 2 cm on my right adrenal that tested negative.
I'm up to 132 lbs and still gaining.
Severly constipated so much so that the GI doctor has put me on Amitiza which isn't working well.
Vit D level last tested was 43
B-12 level is normal
Folate level high
My stomach is sticking out like I'm prego, especially the upper abdomen. Doctor has no clue and has tested me with everything to include MRI's, Ultra Sounds, Blood work for inmune, cancer, all vit and minerals, parathyroid, you name it.
My Calcium level 3 times tested is 10.2 yet my bones are getting worse and fast.
I've totally given up bugging my doctor to try and figure things out because she just doesn't know nor do I.
Just and a FNA done on a 2 cm cystic nodule which came back neg.
I have 3 other small nodules that are not cystic but too small to test
My throat hurts constantly kind of like when your sinus drain and and your entire neck hurts along your cortiod artery?
I just give up and don't even know what to think of next.
Spoke to the dentist about fillings, he said I have none.
Fatigued, depressed really bad, bones hurt so bad from osteo arthritis that is getting worse quickly and daily.
I'm eating better and less but weight is getting worse and not better. My TSH I'm sure is probably around 2 to 3 so not sever enough to be causing all this crap!
Anyone have any suggestions?View Thread

Now most general practicioners will scoff at this but I can tell you it is real. Adrenal Fatigue!
I have a small mass on my right adrenal that tested negitive however I'm still have symptoms of cushing syndrom but yet all the doctors tell me this mass would not cause any symptoms. I call BS on that, for I know my body. I was tested left and right for everything and since I had half my thyroid taken out back in 2002 I've had nothing but problems. I have been just told and this happened quickly within the last year that my I have osteoarthritis very bad in my hip and spin. This wasn't the case a year ago when I had my bone density scan done..so why now? I have gone down hill fast.
So if it isn't your adrenal or adrenal fatigue then I'm wondering if you were put on Levothyroixine and did you have that script filled at WalMart?View Thread

My doctor is as lost as I am. I'm hoping that maybe the nodule they will be doing the biopsy on might be the reason. If not, I just do not have a clue why.
My doctor has tested me everything under the sun. Adrenal, entire abdomen to include gallbladder, liver, kidney, spleen, adrenal (did show a 2 cm mass) which lead to a 24 hour urine test that came back normal.View Thread

Hopefully this site will help guide you and it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it and to run test.

That link might be a little helpful then most.
I do not think your mom is in danger, but a call to her doctor would be my best advice to give.View Thread

Was called and was now referred to another doctor an Endocrinologist for a scan. My guess is a bone density scan since it is an endo doctor.
I've been worried and confused into what is going on. Since 2003 I've been living with these symptoms thinking it was my thyroid. Levels are at 1.00 while on 75 mcg. However hypo symptoms and others remain. Seeking answers, I found Parathyroid fits me to a tee.
I'm worried because this is hard to diagnose, Doctors to include Endo do not see many patients with this so it is overlooked, surgery is hard to find a surgeon who has done many of these. My sypmptoms also fit bone cancer but until I see these doctors I'm trying not to jump the gun but very nervous I must admit.
How do I approach this Endo doctor to take this seriously and test. Reading this website was an eye opener.

Anyone have this?
Symptoms:
Bone Pain (shoulder, bicep)
weakness (arm and legs)
loss of appetite
Constipation
Headaches
acne (I'm 52)
concentration problems (all hypo symptoms)
throat closes up, when I'm just about to fall asleep. (swallowing to clear, it wakes me up)
Sleep pattern very strange and erratic
Low Vit D
Urination sensations...sometimes I go a lot, and sometimes I feel very full but hardly anything comes out, weak flow too
nausea
increased gas GERD
Flush feeling like hot flash but usually with menopause hot flashes it follows with cold. NO COLD. Thought it was to much Levoxyl, stopped taking for 7 days, body got hotter.
Any inputs?View Thread

I also how a low Vit-d twice, given mega dosage, then told to take 4000 I.U. a day of the D3.
That was last year, guess what, since then I've had very bad shoulder pain, first on left, last year, was told it was frozen shoulder, went to PT, and to this day that arm still hurts. Then 4 months ago, my right arm I woke up and couldn't move it. Doc sent me again to PT. PT advise me to return to my Doctor. Doctor sent me for x-ray. X-ray is abnormal (whatever that means) and now scheduled to see an Endo and Ortho doc.
Just thought i would mention this in case something is related and you wake up one morning unable to move your arm without ever doing anything to injure it.
My bet they are going to tell me I have osteoporosis. Great!View Thread

I was diagnosed with minor hypothyroidism with a normal T3 and T4 but TSH was always generally between 3.60 to 6.50 with normal ranges being .01 to 4.80.
My doctor started me at the low dosage of 25 mcg of Levoxyl. I felt just a tiny better but I was still very symptomatic. After 6 months she upped it to 50 mcg. Yes I felt a little better some symptoms were gone but others remained and a few news ones were added. I was having horrible headaches that started in the eyes and later became migraines. Nothing would eased them except a prescription of Relpax which later I couldn't take because of side effects. Anyway. I was feeling so ill for so long and with each follow up to re-up my meds I complained how crappy I was feeling but the doctor kept telling my my TSH, T3, T4, RT3, RT4 were all normal. To placate me she upped my meds to 75 mcg and I really felt so much better. After 3 months and I go to follow up, my labs she said showed my TSH to be .01 and she lowered me back down to the 50 mcg. I cried all the way home. I dealt with this for 2 years and I know my doctor thought I was being a cry baby.
One day on one of my doctors visit I went in screaming in pain with head, and nauseating stomach. My doctor decided to check my Vitamin D level and sure enough it was low of 12. She put me on the mega dosage of D2 and boy did I feel better. Six months goes by and I'm really sick! I'm thinking cancer, liver failure something because I'm seriously feeling ill. I see another doctor because mine was on vacation and she tested my TSH and said it was fine and sent me home. Being that again I felt like I was being a baby and everyone must think I'm a hypochondriac, I went home and dealt with it again quietly.
So two weeks ago I go back for my follow up, and tell my doctor once again of some symptoms. Before when I told her of the swelling in my body when I was in her office it wasn't swollen. (Murphy's law) This time though it was there, and the pitting edema was so evident. She pressed on my skin and it took 10 minutes for it to even start to come back to normal. This is when she tested me for everything, Cancer (blood), Kidney, liver, Vitamin D, Vitamin B, Cholesterol, so on and so forth. Today I got the results and once again my Vitamin D was at 18. This after I was in Florida for 3 weeks in the sun, and I'm out in my yard 3 times a week. (I have 2 acres of yard work to do!) I'm in the sun!
My doctor told me that she has been doing a lot of reading and found that the mega dosage she gave me was the D2 and that is great to get my levels up but it will not hold it there if my body is not doing the thing it does to process the D3 to D2 or whatever. So she said studies show that the over the counter D3 is best if taken constantly on a daily bases to maintain the levels in my body that it refuses to produce. She had me go to the drug store and buy any D3 that has 2000IU and take 2 times a day. Gel caps she suggested.
Now since there are no real studies of hypothyroid and Vitamin D deficiency it will be a hit or miss with you and your doctor or any place else in between.
My point is have your Vit. D checked, if it is low, don't wait for your doctor to prescribe anything for you. Just go to the drug store and buy the D3 and take it daily. My TSH has spiked recently and it was at 4.73 and my doctor and I are not sure if it is because of the lack of D in my body but we will soon find out.
So I'm currently on 75mcg of Levoxyl and 2x 2000IU vitamin D3. Hopefully this will take care of my symptoms which have been:
Hope this helps
Oh and my doctor is only a General Practitioner and does her homework when she has a patient like me.View Thread
