The other thing that I really liked was all of the blood tests they ran on me. I had borderline insulin levels, so they put me on Metformin. I also had lower iron levels, so I went on a multivitamin. I was relieved to find out that my thyroid was normal, as well as cholesterol levels.
When my husband went for his SA, it came back extremely low, so they tested him again. The second result was much better, so much that we're trying IUI first instead of IVF. ($1000 sounds much nicer than $10,000).
Good luck with your tests!!!!View Thread

I had to have surgery to remove 4 uterine polyps and a D&C to clear out excessive thick lining. My doctor said that the polyps weren't cancerous, but left untreated for years, they could have become cancer.
Also, it was cool to be tested for things such as blocked tubes, healthy ovaries, and hormonal levels. Also, my husband was tested and his levels weren't horrible, but he now has to take a set of vitamins that the doctor says will boost his levels.
Knowledge is power! Good luck.View Thread

The way I understand it:
Femara stimulates ovulation and Ovidrel triggers it.
Femara is a pill and Ovidrel is a shot.
Femara was over $600, but my doctor had a coupon, so with my insurance, it was free.
The Ovidrel shot is around $100 and my insurance doesn't pay any part of it.
I do not want to take Clomid because of the side effects, such as thinning uterine lining and hot flashes. If I hadn't had the coupon, I would be choosing it, though. It's $9 on my pharmacy's discount plan.View Thread

I had 4 benign uterine polyps removed about a month ago and my doctor is waiting until I've healed from my surgery to start any medication and/or procedures.
I turn 35 tomorrow, which means the cost of any procedures will go up for me. Even though my husband and I are stressed out from all this, we're getting excited about the upcoming procedure.View Thread

Every policy is different, depending on your state and employer's chosen coverage.View Thread

Thanks for letting us know that an IUI doesn't hurt that bad; I was worried.View Thread

I'm up for my 1st IUI next month and I'm trying to figure out which OPK or plain Ovulation test to buy. Should I just buy the $100 machine that reads the test strips for me?View Thread
