I'm glad the appointment went well for you. Did they give you provera? I never get AF without provera.
As far as DH sperm sample yes we had to do this. It was a little frustrating because we were not given any instructions. We were not aware that we had to abstain for at least 2 days. That was strike one against us. Then, I hate to laugh but DH spilled the cup. He was too embarrassed to say anything when he took the sample in and when they ran the test it came back REALLY bad. They sent him to a urologist and he had to take in another sample. It was much better with slight motility issues but nothing bad. It cracks me up how traumatized our husbands can act to this stuff yet the things we go through is nothing compared to them lol.View Thread

I just thought I'd let you know how my OB appointment went when we started. It was really easy. At that time they didn't know I had PCOS so they did blood and u/s. Since you already know you have PCOS is should be fairly simple.
Odd are they'll give you clomid. I was told to try it for 6 months before going on to an RE. And that was pretty much it, very easy. A lot of women only need the clomid. Praying it all goes well for you!View Thread

I'm doing ok. Not really sure what is going on just yet... I never got a true AF even though my beta dropped to 0. I guess sometimes that happens when there was bleeding during the the loss of a tubal pregnancy. So I will probably have to wait a while until I can do a transfer since you have to have 1 AF before you can start again. I never ovulate on my own so most likely after 6 weeks they will give me provea which takes about 3 more weeks. I hate that its probably going to take that long to try again. I'm so sick of waiting.
I have a failed IVF consult next Wednesday with my RE so hopefully I get some more answers so I know where I stand. Would love if I could just start BC at that time to cut down on the waiting time but I doubt it.. So we shall see.View Thread

Are you taking Metformin? I know some RE's give it to patients who are trying to lose weight to help ttc. I was given it after my m/c to try to prevent future m/c and I was losing weight while on it and I wasn't even trying. I think part of the losing weight while on metformin is because at first it is sort of rough on your body, at least for me. I just didn't feel the best starting out. I wasn't sick, just not really hungry and feeling kind of blah. Once those side effects went away I still just never really had a big appetite and I know it was helping my metabolism, because I was eating whatever I wanted and still losing weight. And I'm a little embarrassed to admit there was about a week where I ate mostly chips and dip (my weakness ha) and still lost weight. With the issues we're going through, when I'm doing a round of treatment I'm not allowed to exercise very much but I still try to walk as much as I can. Just to get some form of exercise. We've been at this about 2 years now and I've become quite weak compared to how I used to be because of my restrictions.
Good luck.View Thread

I'm sorry you're going through this and have to wait so long to get started again.
As far as AF after a medicated cycle mine really weren't that bad. I would go for so long without AF that when it did come it would be super heavy and painful. Af after a medicated cycle was nothing compared to it.
I know injectables sound scary but I really preferred them over the clomid. Clomid made me feel terrible. I promise they don't hurt. Just make sure you give the alcohol time to dry before injecting yourself. That's what makes it uncomfortable. They're so easy, I promise.
Also, ask your RE or nurse if there are any programs to get the meds reduced or free through the pharmacy. Most have these options and they take into account how much you have already spent out of pocket and your income. We were so lucky to get 1 month worth of meds free. That 1 month worth lasted us 4 rounds of IUI's. They give you A LOT and since you do respond to clomid I doubt you'll be on a super high dosage.
As far as getting off work, this stuff IS covered by FMLA. I didn't know that and was surprised to learn. So see if you can get your Dr. to fill one out for you. Then there is nothing they can do.
Good luck to you!View Thread

My RE was not happy that my beta dropped and had me do another round of blood work. I was basically told that if the numbers did not rise significantly we would have to stop all meds and let the pregnancy end.
My beta did go up but not enough. They think its a tubal pregnancy. That just frustrates me so much because with IVF you only have 1 to 3% chance of a tubal. That's just my luck. They're hoping it clears itself. If I don't get af in the next few days I either have to go on a pill to try and dissolve the tissue or have surgery. I also really have to watch for pain. They said a little pain is ok, but if its bad I need to get immediate help.
I kind of knew it wasn't going to end well but was still hopeful.
Good news is if this ends on its own I can get right back into another transfer after af.View Thread

Try not to worry too much about age and what the Dr. might tell you. Maybe all he'll want to do is adjust some sort of medication or do a little more blood work. There are so many options out there. Stay strong! Hugs!View Thread

This past Sunday I ended up getting horrible stomach pain and started bleeding and I ended up calling the emergency number to talk to the on call Dr. I had to go in first thing Monday morning. They did blood work and an u/s. U/S showed everything normal and when they called Monday afternoon my beta went to 162.
The nurse just called with today's beta results and they're going down. Now at 142, so this doesn't look too good. I still am supposed to go in for my u/s tomorrow. I'm just hoping that its not something really bad and end up needing another D&C or some sort of surgery.View Thread
