So things didn't turn out as i expected that night so I went to sleep.
At three in the morning i awoke with this huge erection and a swollen blood vessel that was enlarged and painful. It was right under the head.
Woke up surprised and masturbated immediately. The pressure was then relieved from the penis. However, I still have this tender blood vessel about 3/4" wrapped around my penis.
i fear that blood is dried up in the vessel.and it wont go down without medical intervention.
I took niacin to see if would help and noticed that there was a stinging sensation at the inflamed blood vessel.
There is no blood or rupture in the area.Just swelling and pain if pressure is applied.
Will this go away by itself?
Any Ideas?View Thread
I've got what could be called a rash on my penis (I'm 31 and circumcised). Under the fold of skin before the head on the right hand side the skin is a bit flaky and scaly - sometimes red. This started as a very small patch (maybe 1 cm square) that I noticed maybe 6 months ago. Since then it has spread to wrap half-way around in a band under that skin (still about 1cm wide, but it stretches about 5-6cm around). It also itches periodically. Not constantly - usually just in bursts of about 30 seconds at a time every now and then, but its very intense when it hits.
At first even though I've never had unprotected sex in my life, I immediately throught "STD" and went and got a full set of STD labs done. Came back clear.
I then started looking online and found some pictures of a candida yeast infection of the penis that visually are a spot-on match for what I'm experiencing. Unfortunately after using virtually every anti-fungal cream and powder I can find (butenafine hydrochloride, miconazole nitrate, clotrimazole, ticonazole) it hasn't gone away. These seem to have lessened the symptoms (as long as I'm using them the itching doesn't seem to be as frequent or severe and the affected area seems to have shrank some), but after over 6 weeks of application I still haven't returned to normal.
At this point I'm ready to see a doctor about it, but I'm not sure if a urologist or a dermatologist would be the proper choice. Any suggestions on that or my condition in general?
Thank you.View Thread
Because a little discomfort would happen on and off again I didn't take much concern..Erections were not an issue either...Didn't feel pain or anything...
Probably about 3 months since then, I started feeling pain in the same area...pain is like something is stretched or pulled..The pain occurs whether I am erect or not and it isn't enormously painful but most of the time I am aware of it. I would say it's like a 3 out of 10 pain. The pain doesn't really occur when peeing either...just there.
I am a shy person and when it comes to new things, I get easily afraid so the idea of visiting an urologist seems scary to me..I've never been to one. I only have major medical (hospital) coverage but not for specialists or dr. visits so I wonder if seeing a urlogist is the right thing to do?
I feel afraid that something terrible happened or that surgery will be suggested. Thoughts?
Thank you all for reading this.View Thread
No pain, no discharge, no sex in over 4 months. Just a random itch feeling. It isn't consistent, it comes and goes. The only thing I have really done different is, I had been taking salt baths. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not.
However, I have some bactrim, I started taking yesterday (in case it is bacteria). I've been drinking water and cranberry juice for the last week.
It's just weird.View Thread
This is the only thing I can think of....my wife was away for a few months teaching a class overseas. During this time, I didn't masturbate at all (I don't masturbate often). Could this be the cause of this? It concerns me because I urinate frequently, but have been for many years. I've seen THREE different urologists about my urination and they all tell me there's nothing wrong with me.
Any thoughts?View Thread
I originally went to the urologist when I was 19 years old after I woke up one day with a hard chord from the top left base of the penis that went up to almost the head and curled to the side with a very slight bump, it isn't always palpable when flaccid; when erect and semi-erect, it is noticeable and pulsates with my heartbeat.
it is somewhat painful when getting erect, and afterwards generally is somewhat sore and inflamed, not always though. It is also somewhat slightly painful to the touch when flaccid.
The doctor brushed off my concerns, and when he palated it in the flaccid state it hurt, I said so, and his statement was "it shouldn't".
And that was that.
I lived with it for a couple years and went to another urologist, he also brushed off my concerns.
I figured they may be right and this is all normal, I also suffered with Chronic Pelvic pain syndrome, and figured maybe the pain was caused by muscles. which doesn't explain the chord though.
About 6 months ago I finally found info on Mondors disease.
I can't stand this anymore and cannot believe I lived with this all this time. I went to my GP and she said it would be 4-8 months to see a urologist, FOR penis PAIN (thats canadian health care for you!!!)
So I will go see an american urologist this time and demand an ultrasound, and pay out of pocket. My idea was to get a thrombectomy, if possible???
My question:
I just feel like the biggest idiot in the world to beleive these doctors, and soldiered on so recklessly. I'm sure in that timeframe I have inflamed that vein (sex/ masturbation) and in essence my penis at least a thousand times....
The literature says Mondor's is a benign condition, but I imagine they mean when it goes away on it's own after a few weeks/months, mine never went away, I'm now almost 27.
and even though when it's not in its inflamed state, it feels quite normal, I'm scared of developing peyronies or something down the line.
Any comments are greatly appreciated,
Thank you.View Thread
also around this time i began having some itching issues, i thought at first it was because i was living in a warm climate but thats not the case. A little while later I noticed a bump on my scrotum. I went to my primary care doctor and was examined. I dont know if it was because it was flesh colored or becasue it didnt seem as bad that day but the dr didnt notice anything. The doctors keep saying its nothing serious but really they have no clue because thats what they said before i was diagnosed with chylmidia or GERD.
just to be safe I had another STD test and it was clear... after a few months more appeared small mostly flesh colored and a few black ones..and a few tiny ones on the tip of my penis. After doing some research it seemed obvious I had HPV even though I have not been sexually active. I have not seeked treatment because there really isnt anythign they can do and obviously wont ever be sexually active again. I was asymptomatic for a long and i infected my girlfriend without my knowledge, obviously i felt awful and we broke up not long after. I only backtrack with that to show how far its effecting my life. along with this I have had unexplained gastro issues for 3 years and seen many a specialist who tells me its only GERD.I get terrible nausea and have such terrible epiagastric pain i have to go to the ER. This has absolutely ruined my life. I feel guilt shame hopelessness and loneliness but worse I have this terrible feeling something is still wrong and its gettign worse with out treatment. Im not worried about the sexual aspects as im fairly certain its hpv so i will be alone for the rest of my life. i just really dont want it to develope into something worse both my stomach and my penis. I have poor circulation so I thought that might be the problem with the flatness but its very noticable and i think it could be more serious.I am 26 years old and have only had 4 partners. I no longer have insurance and im in debt from doctors who have given me no answers. Whenever I see any doctor i tell them all of this and they look at me dumbfounded, though i have not seen a urologist.
.thanks for the patience, Now for my questions:
Is my penis becoming flat from masturbation( i do not do it often as this has scarred me mentally and i am rarely aroused)?
Why has my flow decreased so much?
is there a treatment for a flattened penis, preferrably non surgical?
My insurance ran out and now I am hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt just from the gastro specialist as well as losing my girlfriend and being alone since, can stress be part of the issue?
what general advice can you give for someone who clearly doesnt know medicine but thinks something is very wrong?
does any of this indicate cancer? have a family history of prostate cancer
Id just like to know what i can do to be proactive so i dont continue to ruin whats left of my life any and all information would be greatly appreciated because im so lost!
thank youView Thread
I was very concerned so I made and appt to see my dr yesterday afternoon. Right away he thought it could be clamydia. I asked about the possibility of being a UTI and he dismissed that because its rare in men?
Before leaving I gave the dr a urin sample. He told me to call him in a week for results and he also prescribed me cipro for an infection.
Of course I'm very concerned now. I've only been with my gf and I know she hasn't been with anyone else. Is there anything this could be?View Thread
Sorry for the long question below but I am trying to be as detailed as possible. See below
1. Around september the tip of my penis felt starnge as if something was there. I went to see a Urologist and he thought everything was okay. I took STD tests and PSA tests and nothing was found. He also did a scope and saw nothing. He put me on anti biotics and said I should be fine.
2. A couple weeks later, the feeling turned into a burning/stining feeling at the tip for about a day and a half.
3. After the day and a half, it turned into an itchy feeling. This itch has been present for about 3 months. I have seen different doctors and urologists in this time and none have been able to figure it out.
4. In December, I got a very small bump on the shaft. It was analyzed to be a wart by a dermatologist. I ended up having about 4 more small ones on my hands.
5. None od my doctors have though the wart was related and said it was a coincidence. No warts have been confirmed in my urethera.
6. I have been scanned and nothing appears to be wrong other than a small calicifcation in my appendix. He ordered MRIs and did not find anything of note.
7. I have taken these medications and lotions since this started: clotrimazole cream, doxcycline, ciprofloaxcin, fluconazole, trimethoprim, urelle, phenazopydrine, stromectol, nystatin and triancinokone acetonide cream and gabapentin.
Plese advise me on what you think this is and what I can try to stop it. I am afraid I appear to be out of options and the problem is still present.
As a side note, I am generally very happy in my life and not really stressed out at all. I do not think this is in my head.
ThanksView Thread
I have been having bizarre symptoms over the past year.
I started waking up with a slight, mucous like discharge from my penis, that was slowly accompanied by testicular pain. Immediately assuming it was an STD, I went to my doctor to get treated. All The STD tests came back negative, but he prescribed me some antibiotics and it went away.
Two months later, the symptoms came back. My doctor, thinking I initally tested falsely negative, assumed it was a reinfection, retested me, gave me the same antibiotics, and sent me on my away. Again the symptoms went away, and all the STD tests came back negative a second time.
Another two months later, the symptoms came back and my doctor immediately sent me to a urologist. He had no idea what to do and sent me to an infectious disease specialist. The infectious disease spcialist tested me again for STDs with no avail, and sent me to a different urologist. This urologist told me that its not an external infection causing it, so just to give it some time and hopefully it will go away.
Oddly enough, 2 days after my appointment the symptoms went away. Until about 1-2 months later. I decided to wait it out a second time, but now the symptoms have stuck around for 6 months (though the testicular pain has not come back). Also, about a month ago, I noticed a change in the consistency of my semen. It is now clear and watery.
I know that whatever I have is not communicable because I have not passed it on to my partner. The doctors examined my prostate with an ultrasound and said it looks normal. This is a complete mystery.
Has this or something similar happened to anyone?View Thread
Are these levels concerning for a growing young man?
Would his creatinine levels decrease to normal as he grows older?
Would these high levels eventually affect his Kidneys?
Thank you

I am 49 and have had this problem before. When previously checked, using a culture swab test, at an STD clinic i was told it could be NSU and was given an antibiotic tablet which tended to clear it up. Now i'm living in a different country and the procedures are different. The doctor didn't give me a culture swab and i think this is what i need. It's not uncomfortable peeing but i have a strange conciousness of something being not quite right down below plus an uncomfortable dampness. Any advice please?View Thread
Anyone else out there having these problems and any tips on what I can do to prevent this from continuing? Any advice is welcome. Thank you.View Thread
the corona of my penis (the fireman's helmut!!) starts to feel sore after I have sex. I can have this soreness last a week. Is this normal? If not, what could this mean. I've noticed, for instance, that If I masturbate a day after sex, it will actually feel painful. And just to answer the pre-requisite questions, no I do not use a tight grip, yes I've check for any infection (none found).View Thread
The first day of the stinging, I went to Urgent Care. They did a test for STDs, which is due back on Monday. The Dr. prescribed doxycycline, which I've been taking every day for the past 4 days.
I've have no change in symptoms, except that I notice a slight milky discharge in the mornings at the tip. I tried taking Azo, and also drinking unsweetened cranberry juice to dull the pain, but it has not worked. It's to the point where I'm avoiding liquids at all costs because it hurts so much.
Any advice?View Thread
I am a 24 year old male and the past few months have been very troublesome for me.
It started with pain in the underside of my penis. Went to the urologists who put me on several different antibiotic courses over the course of 2 months but no improvement.
The area is now swollen. It is like a swollen vein running along the base of my penis (below the urethra) from the testicles to the mid shaft. I believe it is the 'corpus spongiosum' (after googling penis anatomy). Red spider veins have also started showing presence over there.
I have been studying up sclerosing lymphanngitis mostly on this site. Can this be lymph swelling? Can lymph swelling occur on the underside of the penis as well or is it only on top of the penis?
Please help as any info would be greatly appreciated. I am scared this might be something serious like cancer. I have ordered the quick penetrating cream as well and hope it can improve my condition.
Thanks for your help in advance.View Thread
Since then I've achieved a few reasonable erections alone and with my partner, and on occasion they've been tentative. Most recently was this weekend and one was pretty good but the next two moderate...plus there was another close call in the same position as the original incident. Could be I have some "stagefright" and my mind is inhibiting me. But I also seem to have a very limited but potentially disconcerting loss of sensitivity where it should be highest--on the underside right below the tip...my favorite spot and where the brunt of the impact was felt.
I have an annual physical in a month and will ask then if this persists, but I'm concerned about doing whatever I can to aid recovery of sensation and erection integrity. Is there anything to do but wait and expect that any damaged nerves/nerve endings will slowly be repaired?
Thank you.View Thread
Me:
27, 2 sexual partners in last 6 years,in long term relationship now, with little sex and too much masturbation
-very active and fit, no history of STDs
The symptoms:
-BB sized bump on right side of penis (about the size of a pepper ball). Halfway up the penis shaft when erect..NOT right below the head like others have.Nor is it near the base.
-Tends to be smaller when flaccid, grows with erection
-it can move slightly but not attached to outside of skin, it's underneath
-when pressed on does not reduce in size
-painless, colorless
-sometimes its not there and read below for how i can make it "disappear"
When did it happen
-after an extended period of vigorous masturbation. It gradually became more prominent and began to really notice it right around where my fingers end when im gripping my shaft.
-i've had it for over 6-8 months now
-saw my GP he said it was nothing to be concerned about & couldn't feel it at the time on my flaccid penis. He said we could ultrasound it but that would probably be inconclusive.
Now the kicker..
i have what appears to be almost a horizontal elevated area (under skin) right around where the bump shows up on the right side (coincidence, don't think so)..it appears to be almost like a hernia (i mean obviously i cant see it).but if i press the bump into the right spot around this area the bump goes away completely..almost like it goes into the "torn area". You can press on the bump in the wrong spot and it sticks around..i found you have to almost pull the skin tight toward the tip of the penis and then press on it with your thumb around the area and it will disappear into it. I would then masturbate and not even feel it, but it "slips" back out sometimes and comes back.
It is very difficult to get the bump to go away without an erection as finding that area is difficult.
Will this ever heal? I have not found anything on hernias on the penis shaft itself but i am almost certain that's what it is.Maybe you can tell me if you have heard of this before? It is not a PPP, nor does it seem like PD at all from the numerous articles i have read, it's not a cyst (no discoloring or pain), nor does it seem like plaque as it grows with erection. Would this require surgery to fix?
I have an unhealthy addiction to masterbaition i'll admit, and i'm positive that's what cause this. Sometimes i'll masturbate for hours, even if it's just squeezing my penis between my thumb and fingers, which is what i think caused this and another problem i just got.
The second problem i am fairly confident is sclerosing lymphangitis which you have described in numerous other posts. After a prolonged masturbation yesterday, i felt a hard guitar-string-like lymph vessel appear on the top side of my penis extending from the pubic base to the top of my foreskin (i am circumcised), a little to the right of center but not much (can you please tell me what this lymph vessel is called so i can refer to it when i get my appointment to a urologist?). After the masturbation, the corona area swelled..not excessively but i could tell by looking at it..and now i feel this guitar string like vessel is quite prominent even when penis is soft. I read that i should stop masturbation and sex, and hope it goes away. It's colorless(not blue or red or anything) and feels about the diameter of the third guitar string.
My penis is falling apart what the hell do i do? Can you answer some of the question i have in bold please? This has been weighing on me heavily and affecting my person life at home and work.
THANK YOU SO MUCHView Thread
