In grade 3 he started complaining about colors being browns and greys but at times could still tell different colors.
He was having issues with his teacher at school and being bullied at the time. I thought that that was causing him to say this to get out of going to school. But to be safe I took him to an eye doctor and he said his vision was fine, he had a slight stigmatism, but that it was nothing to worry about. We went to the same eye doctor right up until 2 years ago when we moved to another province.
With some research I located a good opthmologist in our area and took him in to see him last year. At which point he told me my son was color blind. All he sees are shades of grey, black and white. He said it was genetic.
I am baffled as he could see colors before. Is there any treatment to help correct this? Is there perhaps a surgery to correct the stigmatism the first opthamologist mentionned?
As it stands right now he will never be able to get a drivers license, and it also severely limits his career choices. Looking for any and all help I can get on this.
