However, we are doing work at a client's facility where their safety religion says wear them all the time. Last summer my eyesight degenerated significantly during the 3-4 months I had to wear them everyday. After that the degeneration stopped and has made some recovery, but we are working for this same client again this spring/summer and I am not willing to take my chances on further damaging my eyesight by wearing them every 8+ hour day.
I am so concerned about this that I am considering telling my employer that I refuse to work at the client's location because of this, and risk loosing my job (jobs are easier to find than new eyes).
Is there some research that has been done that can support me on this? I know what my vision was and what it is now, but my documentation of this is rather lacking. If I can show that it has happened to others as well, I think it could make things a little easier when talking to my employer.View Thread
