My suggestion is to visit the local emergency room. You can check out most hospitals polices online. At our local emergency room, a patient must see a doctor and be treated before any insurance information can be collected. Also, for patients who do not have insurance, our hospital has a "charity care program" where patients fill out an application and take the appropriate papers to the hospital and wait for approval. I have seen patients who were approved for 100% coverage for 3 years.
The policy is different at most "express" medical centers, where co-payment is due up front. But, from my understanding, a public ER cannot turn away patients regardless of insurance.
Please take care of yourself and try to get seen as soon as possible. Time could be of the essence.View Thread
Hello. I am hoping someone might can give me some insight as to what is going on here.
My skin has been itching for about 2 weeks now. At times a bump will come up that looks like a small mosquito bite and other times there is no "bite." It is contagious. My hubby developed it first. He went to the doctor (I forget what the diagnosis was), but he was given an oral med and a cream and was told that it is not usually contagious, but it does break out in military barracks a lot. Now, I've got it. My 5 year old son, who usually sleeps with us has developed a mild case. My other 2 children have been unaffected.
So far, these are possible diagnosis: 1. Allergic Reaction: Benedryl does help, but it seems to be contagious.
2. Eczema: Heat makes my itching worse (I itch worse in the shower than anywhere)
3. Bugs (fleas, scabies, bedbugs, dust mites): We have done extensive cleaning in our house. No signs of any bugs. There is no "entry" points on my skin to indicate scabies. We have no pets in the house. Our cleaning is done with a Rainbow vacuum system which eliminates dust mites.
There are no new products being used. No new shampoo, laundry detergent, soap, perfume, foods, or meds.
When I took the 5-year-old to the doctor I was told that he has no idea what is causing it. My son was given a steroid cream and told to come back in a week if he is still itching. A week later, he was still itching and I was told the same thing by my doctor; to bring him back in a week if it is not better. The doctor did say a trip to the dermatologist may be in order.
Any ideas? The itching is driving me crazy!!! Please help!!!
