I was diagnosed with RA almost 4 years ago, that was march 2012. My joints were inflamed everyday!! I can hardly move and always in pain..I was prescribed with actemra, and had taken it for just 2 months because it was too expensive, that's 40k here in the Philippines per shot plus 10% of the cost of the drug was the pf of the doctor who will administer it and since it was too expensive and I no longer continue the meds and shifted to cheaper ones--the prednisone. For so many months, I'm taking 20mg a day with arcoxia 60mg. I bloated as it is the side effect of the prednisone.. I managed to lessen the dose to 15mg, more months again to 10mg until such time I lessened it to 5mg a day. In short, I've been taking the drug for a very long time. During those times I looked for other natural alternatives like bragg apple cider vinegar, turmeric, and other anti inflammatory herbal products, and yes it helped me lessened the pain once in a while, but still continuing to use prednisone at 5mg a day since the pain is still as painful as it is. I was so eager to look for other meds which could help me get rid of the steroidal med I'm taking coz I know it will kill my kidneys in prolong using of the med. Until a stranger (who became my good friend) introduced me to a product which helped me alot to overcome my RA, I'm taking it for 3 months now and was so happy to say that I no longer feel the pain everyday and had stop taking the steroidal med (prednisone) for almost 2 months now. The product is safe with zero toxicity so I am no longer worried of my kidney being damaged. Now, I can do and feel what other normal people do. So happy and blessed. Thank God..View Thread

I don't have a RA diagnosis, but I suffer from quite debilitating fatigue that's likely to be linked to a high anti-CCP count. i.e. it's probably the first sign of RA. Over the past few months it's become a constant condition, making it difficult for me to work a full day and almost impossible to keep social engagements etc. But the rheumatologist told me they wouldn't try and treat the fatigue until/unless I develop joint pain.
So I did some research into what the latest thinking is on the mechanism by which RA causes fatigue, and found that it could be down to over-production of cytokines — proteins that regulate the the immune system's inflammatory response. Three weeks ago I started taking a supplement called Cytokine Suppress, produced by a US company called Life Extension, which uses mung bean coating and green tea extracts to suppress production of cytokines. I was sceptical — mung beans and green tea? — but willing to try almost anything.
The results have been incredibly positive: after six days, I realised I felt normal, and have continued to feel pretty much like my old self. Fingers crossed that it will continue to work...
Of course, this might not help for someone whose fatigue is more severe than mine — but if there's anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation to mine, I would really recommend giving it a try.View Thread

I was given an MRI that showed a 2mm bulge, but all of the doctors are telling me that it is insignificant because I have no neurological symptoms. Well, now I've been having issues with my hands. For at least a year (more chronic in the last six months), my hands hurt. Sometimes its just my wrist, sometimes its all of my joints and fingers. Well, just recently, in maybe the last two months, I've been having knee pain.
About four years ago, I was having weak and fatigue problems, so I had an ANA test done. I was at exactly 1:40. The doctor at the time told me it wasn't significant, and nothing ever came of it. Now, I have my Active Release Therapist telling me he thinks that the back pain might be arthritis.
Anybody have any similar stories or pointers? I'm going in for a test today. At this point, I just want answers. After almost two years of back pain with every doctor scratching their heads to what the cause it, I'd almost be relieved to finally get a diagnosis. At the same time, no therapy I've ever tried works. I'm really young. I don't really have much hope left. I guess I'm just looking for somebody to help me.View Thread

A TREATMENT TO TRY
I am a Doctor, a GP who endured R.A. for over 40 years I tried different treatments proposed by consultants some of a little help but none really effective. I have a first class degree in Medicine myself, and at last began to question whether the approach to autoimmune diseases including RA has so far come from the wrong direction.
What if RA sufferers share a difficulty in food processing I decided to try boosting my digestion.
The most important move was to buy 3 months worth of Super Enhanced Digestive Enzyme Capsules
Bear in mind as far as I'm aware, they have no known side effects and are sold by Health food shops and distributors like Amazon with out needing a prescription. My second move was to keep eating down to three very moderate meals when I also take the capsules.
Also remember that I did not leave off my consultant's treatment when I started this.
Naturally I kept a careful eye open for any changes for good or ill .
Within 10 weeks all my RA symptoms began to abate. It was only then I began to wean myself off the consultant's treatment over a period of several months then I relied only on my enzyme and diet treatment , and since 2008 have been entirely free of RA symptoms, except for two occasions when I relaxed my enzyme treatment and ate too much protein.
In other words I had found not a cure but for me a highly effective and consistent treatment.
If you want to try this treatment yourself alongside your current medication prescribed by your GP or by a consultant remember of course you have to care for your own body, do take time before you drop your present treatment, perhaps after consulting with your Physician.

Thanks to everyone for their postings on biotin and folic acid etc. I will be increasing the amounts I take in expectation of starting methotrexate. Does anyone know if taking methotrexate by injection makes the alopecia worse?View Thread

I stopped the medicine completely on my own and now o am on to breathing exercise regularly morning and evening and I am 80 percent cured. Breathing exercise takes out a lot of bad gases and toxins from the body. Just try it and move away from your medicines. Eat only steamed or boiled vegitables and avoid deep fries. Eat a lot of fresh juices and proteins. Good luck you will sail through.View Thread

I will try to be brief and hope someone can tell me if anyone is having had sucess like I am currently having with vitamin C.
I have suffered with it in my feet for 3 years with no remission, RA
doctor has wanted me on methtorexate (I'm on sulphazalazine) I chose to tough it out and also not take pregnizone, even have had her give me shots in the pads of my feet and between my toes about a year ago. Many days I come down the stairs in the morning on my butt, stair by stair because I cant risk falling. 3 weeks ago I started taking 1000mg daily of vitamin C because I was trying to prevent colds and flu, 21/2 weeks ago I got excited because I noticed I got up in the morning and was walking good, that has now lasted till today and I think I could go dancing with the wife, obviously my mood is fantastic.
Question, am I crazy to think it's the vitamin C?
Thank you for any response

Through A&R Pharmacy's (Located in Liberty, MO) topical pain gels, you can have all the pain relief and more without the side effects or downtime of pills. I have been using their gels for 8 months, and I finally have control of my life back. I highly recommend looking into it if you're on your last leg of hope; I know I was.View Thread

It is on the rise and, as a user of such, I have to highly recommend it for people fighting this pain, especially for those new/old to situation who are looking to avoid pills altogether.
